Broadcast Event Driver

This is one of those drivers that you probably won't use every day, but it may just save your skin someday. Let me explain.

Recently, My Device got called to a job which had 8 (yes 8!) XP8s in a holiday home. Each XP8 had it's own remote and was basically run as a standalone system. We needed a way to trigger a "Goodnight" scene from any remote in the house, that is, shutdown all AV systems controlled by any XP8.

Unfortunately the only connection between them all was Ethernet and it just wasn't feasible to run any kind of IR or trigger wire.

Enter the Broadcast Event Driver.

Using this novel driver you run a copy on all the XP8s that you want to trigger. Then you simply call the sendBroadcast() function as part of your scene. The local XP8 broadcasts the message to all other listening devices and voila you have inter-communicating XP8s.

The only catch is the XP8s must all be on the same subnet.

So download a copy today and get those independent zones talking!
